Businesses and blogging

Enterprises have been using a mix of Web 2.0 approaches for a while. Of these Web 2.0 trends, it seems that blogging has reached 'mainstream'. From The Economist:

Blogging has entered the mainstream ... [C]ompanies far outside the media industry have embraced blogging as just another business tool. They are using blogs both to get corporate messages to the public and as an internal medium for staff.

Using your online presence, whether it be your website, blog, or social network is a cost effective and easily measurable marketing effort. With the low barrier to entry, SMEs and retailers have no excuse for not engaging with their customers, employees, and suppliers online.
